Obtained Master degree from Dhaka University from Accounting Department and completed Chartered Accountancy course from Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB). Then he has taken higher Degree in Development Management from London Business School, UK. Besides that he attended many specialized courses in Development sector in UK, Malaysia, Thailand and within the country. From these courses he became able to learn different techniques of the Planning process, Strategic Decision making, Evaluation process, Empowerment, Teamwork, Leadership, Motivation, Stress Management, HR Management, Restructuring, Management in Change etc. The aforesaid learnings guided him to ensure Management & Operational support to the different organizations particularly international organizations to the right path from his academic and expertize’s perspectives.
From 1984 he was working in a Donor organisation as an Administrator (Admin & Finance). It was a bilateral organisation of Dutch and Swedish aided project working with the Bangladesh Water Development Organisation. Besides Administrative and Financial operational work for the organization he got chance to work on financial monitoring system for the different local NGOs during grant disbursement work. In 1993 he switched over to Practical Action – Bangladesh an International NGO head office based at UK. He took over the charge to lead the Admin, Finance, Human Resource and IT section. His main responsibility was to ensure the smooth functioning and effective operational support services. Additionally he was the responsible person to see Gov’t Affairs matter particularly NGOAB, different Ministries etc. As a Head of Finance he has to provide financial report and meet up the queries to the different Donors i.e. DFID at UK and Bangladesh, US AID, Bill Melinda Gates Foundation, EC, ADB, GIZ, DGIS, CAFOD, UNDP, UNICEF, ILO, Swiss Contact, FK (Norway), CIDA, National Lottery Grant at UK, etc. on the other hand he has to ensure the monitoring and capacity buildup activities of the Partner organizations. At the end of 2017, he successfully retired from Practical Action – Bangladesh. From then he is involved with Advisory services.
In addition, Wahiduzzaman Babur was the Board Member (Gov’t Nominated) of Palli Karma Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) for 2014-2020, District Governor (2015-16), Lions International, 315 B2, Bangladesh, Currently he is the Member, Standing Committee for Lions Eye Institute & Hospital, General Hospital and Lions Medical College (Proposed), Bangladesh Lions Foundation (BLF), Adviser and Past President of the Accounting Alumni Association of Dhaka University. Adviser and Life Member of the Dhaka College Accounting Alumni Association, Life Member Bangladesh Accounting Association (BAA), He is the Life Fellow Member and ex Treasurer of Bangladesh Society for Human Resource Management (BSHRM) and Senior Fellow Member of Bangladesh Organization for Learning & Development (BOLD). Currently he is holding the position of Advisor of HR Club of Bangladesh (HRCB). He was the Vice President and now the Honorary observer member of EC and Life Member of Bangladesh Society for Total Quality Management (BSTQM), EC Member of Bangladesh Senior Citizen Welfare Society (BSCWS), Life Member, Bangladesh Probin Hitoisy Sangha and the Vice Chairman, Finance Committee of the International Business Forum of Bangladesh (IBFB) and many other Social organizations.
